Welcome to our Tribe!
Cindy is the founder of Pole Base Durban. She has been practising pole fitness for about 12 years. Her style of teaching is based on passion and dedication. She wants her students to thrive and have the best possible environment to excel in.

Cindy is unique from the other instructors in the sense that she doesn't have much of a dancing background. However, she's living proof that it's never too late to learn. With time and dedication, you will conquer rhythm, strength and flexibility limits you never dreamed you could.

In 2017 she won gold in the intermediate division of the KZN Pole Awards competition and walked away with the performance of the night ... something she never thought possible.

"When you learn that you are stronger than you thought,
that's when I know I am doing my job!"

Come pole with attitude!
Georgie has been involved in dance from a very young age and has trained in many styles. She competitively participated in acrobatics and represented South Africa in equine vaulting. She recently found pole and lyra as a means to reignite her love for dance in a non-competitive and supportive environment- everything that Pole Base offered her!
Georgie is a lecturer and Masters student and loves to bring her teaching skills into the pole class and understands everyone's individuality and welcomes it.
"I love walking into a pole class feeling not my best and inevitably knowing that everyone leaving that class will be overflowing with confidence."

Get ready for some pole play!
Amy started dancing at the age of 3 – training in ballet, tap, modern and ballroom during her school years. She discovered pole in 2018 while looking for a form of exercise that had all the fun of dance without being a chore. The rest is history!

Amy loves the challenging nature of pole fitness; doing moves she never thought herself capable of. The sense of community the studio has built is a bonus.

Amy’s teaching style combines the strength and flexibility of her dancing background. But most importantly, she wants her students to have fun and discover their passion for pole.

“As someone who could never do a pushup, I love doing things that I never thought I would be capable of!”

Confidence overflowing
Taryn has had a passion for dance from an early age. As a child, she explored a mixture of dance styles including ballet, tap, modern dancing, rock 'n roll and freestyle - her favourite. She discovered pole dancing back in 2014 after watching a BeSpun video on YouTube. Inspired, she tried a class and quickly became obsessed with the sport. So much so that in 2017, she took a pole-cation to Los Angeles, USA to train at the world-famous BeSpun studio where she found her love for the exotic/Classique style of pole dancing.

Taryn has had the rare privilege to train with pole stars like Claudia Renée, Michelle Shimmy, Maddie Sparkle and Sarah Scott.

"I love the confidence that pole dancing (and a pair of Pleaser heels) gives women, and how it overflows into their daily lives."
